From where springs the smoothness of restful days close to the sea, with a warm humid breeze full of the aroma of freshly cut herbs from the bottom of the garden, the scent of plants growing in between the greens, dark and tender with shades of blue, and heavenly turquoise; the sweet aroma of tiny flowers, and the big tropical flowers that show off their trembling gineceo?
From where this moonlight and this wicker chair that invites to pause; and this smiling new memory that nests in the juicy fruits which patiently guard the devotion and the enjoyment?
The doors of your home have been opened Juan Carlos. They have brought you to lie and gaze at the clear night sky that proclaims the crickets, whilst the cicadas come near to the end of their Tibetan song.
You first showed us the golden iron locks that guarded the enclosures where you live. Later you opened your windows so that we would look at the fields and the streets. Now your doors are open.
From the corner of my eye I have seen leaving your home a fleeting wake which, perhaps, along with you, inhabits it. It is the calm passion, tamed.

The somewhat extraordinary Juan Carlos Ramos has lived in the days which have preceded the work he exhibits today. Although I cannot confirm it of every painting, there are those that leave you without doubt.
The Globes in the Window, with the warm outside light, the smooth vigorous eddies repeated... they don't have the intention to invite you to leave your house, nor do they stop the smile in silence. They announce the immobility before the attack.
In another one, the conjunction of the pyramid, the cupola, the cross... Juan Carlos seems to want to flood us with a history of reflections on the archaeology of our collective character, of unconstrained geometry and of the sun. The solidity of basalt gives an evident and firm foundation.
And with the fossilized fish mimicked in the stone in which it has slept for such a long time - does he want to take us into prehistory? Maybe it is a secret about his long Christian tradition or maybe it is about some shared tradition with the fish of Toledo?
The best of those exhibited today, however, is the Blue. The color is a smooth delight, modulated, transparent, and vigorous which, of course, evokes the sky. The musical textures are everywhere, with a language of black, spiritual percussion.
There are characters that inhabit the humid mazateco forests.
There is a mysticism that is a prelude of new places.
